SCOPIST

Scoping is the editing of transcript files from rough draft to finished product, including research of spellings of names and terms, insertion of correct punctuation, title and appearance pages, certificate pages, and index of examinations and exhibits.  Having a scopist enables a court reporter to produce transcripts much faster and enable them to take on more assignments.

HSCRC instructs students in scoping techniques and best practices by the end of Year One.

Cost: $350/mo (1 year course)
