Bonni Shuttleworth

Speedbuilding Instructor

Bonni Shuttleworth has an AAS from Midstate College and has spent 30 years in the field of court reporting education, including at Midstate College, Career Colleges of Chicago, and Court Reporting Institute of America – all schools in Illinois – and also at Trident Technical College in Charleston, South Carolina.

 

Bonni has served in every capacity in teaching students and administering programs for court reporting schools, including designing academic as well as speedbuilding courses for both on-campus and online programs and developing curriculum and syllabi for a four-year realtime court reporting degree. She also taught Professional Development, a capstone course of all students regardless of program of study.  In addition, Bonni did administrative work in placing graduates and tracking their employment.

 

She has presented seminars on resume writing, job-seeking techniques, and success in finding a job for students, in addition to seminars for teachers and reporters on a range of topics having to do with reporting and reporting education.

 

She is a member of ILCRA and is a two-term member of CASE. She is the former chair of the NCRA Speed Contest and Realtime committees. She is a certified test grader and a Chief Examiner of the NCRA certification. She served as chair of the Illinois Speed and Realtime Contests for over 20 years. She is a retired member of the ILCRA Board of Directors and served as the Education Liaison for ILCRA from 1995 to 2014.

 

She was awarded the ILCRA Outstanding Educator in 2000, the ILCRA Distinguished Service Award in 2013, and the CASE Award of Excellence in 2015.

 

She has three grown children and lives in Crestwood, Illinois. Students love Bonni's style, spark, dedication -- and speedy dictation!
